The central government has given green signal to the decision to set up 13 new Central Universities in 11 States including Gujarat. The budget for the construction of these Universities has been allocated to the tune of Rs. 3600 crores. On the other hand, 10 lakh seats will be raised in the educational institutions across the country to implement the decision on economic basis. .
The new universities will be included in the states of Bihar, Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Kerala, Orissa, Punjab, Rajasthan and Tamilnadu. All these states will be one and one will be created in two universities in Jammu and Kashmir. According to Union Minister Piyush Goyal, the university construction work will be completed in 36 months.
