Gandhinagar: Gujarat government has announced a very important scheme for farmers. Chief Minister Vijay Rupani has announced 'Saurashakti Kisan Scheme' as part of doubling the income of farmers. Under this scheme, farmers will be given solar panels and the farmer will become the electricity producer himself. Joining this scheme will be given instantaneous power connection. The beneficiary of this scheme will have to pay 5% of the total expenditure.
For which the central and state government will provide 60% subsidy to the farmers found, whereas at least 5% of the solar panels costing the farmer will be filled. For this, farmers will have to take 35% loans. Farmer's committee will also be constituted and the state government will take insurance of solar panels.
CM Rupani said that tubewell solar based agricultural irrigation will be made. The scheme will also create farmers with consumers, which will also have to create a committee of farmers. The government will buy additional power from the farmers at the rate of seven rupees.
After completion of 7 years loan installment, the remaining 18 years per unit will be 3 rupees 50 rupees for the power distribution company, 25 years of profit will be given. This is a Rs 870 crore pilot project.
